Emotional Intelligence For Effective Leadership

Description

As the world of work continues to increase in pace and drive toward a more and more specialized workforce, the abilities of individuals to work well together, share information quickly and effectively and provide essential feedback become of utmost importance. Conventional wisdom has told us to train our employees to leave their emotions at home, far away from the organization. However, this doesn’t usually happen, and most everyone has likely been in a work setting where the emotional climate was toxic and the results on morale, teamwork, productivity and the bottom line were disastrous.
The growing body of research on Emotional Intelligence overwhelmingly points to the simple truth that the employee who has a heightened capacity to understand and manage their own emotions, and work with the complicated emotional landscape of those around them, as opposed to just leaving his or her “emotions” at home, will perform at a higher level and positively and significantly impact a company’s bottom line.

Seminar participants will leave with a heightened self-awareness, particularly of where and how their emotional reactions may impact work performance. They will be trained and exposed to a “tool kit” of resources, exercises and skills to help them retain the key takeaways from the seminar, and make lasting and productive changes at their workplace.

Objectives

Participants in the one day Emotional Intelligence seminar will learn the skills to:
• Understand the fundamentals of EQ and its value both professionally and personally
• Develop greater self awareness about what affects their EQ
• Learn 3 EQ Tools for increasing their effectiveness at work
• Discuss how EQ relates to leadership and working under pressure
